GOOGLE ADWORDS
USING BRAND CAMPAIGN groups within adwords to build your brand
ABOUT
Google Adwords is a pay-per-click (PPC) advertising platform where advertisers bid to have their ads shown to relevant audiences. There are two ways this is done: 1) through the Google Search Network and 2) through the Google Display Network.
CASE STUDY
To create a new experience called Brand Campaign groups within AdWords for advertisers that were interested in building their brand. It provided a quick and straightforward way to monitor spend, clicks, and/or conversions across multiple campaigns without having to continually filter for labels. It also provided reach and frequency to help advertisers understand how many unique browsers their ads reached and how often they were displayed.
UI/UX DESIGNS
The process started with a basic understanding of what AdWords is and what exactly this tool can be used to help advertisers with their brands. I did a lot of internal research of the terminology and understanding of the platform first.
The overall UI needed to feel that it was part of Material Design to make sure the experience was still consistent. A lot of iterations on how to showcase all the different formats to showcase reach, spend, projected, targeted, etc were explored.

LEARNINGS
Definitely take your time when designing for analytics. Do your research!
It doesn’t matter how visually enticing analytics look if you’re not understanding what the data is trying to show.
People interpret reading data differently so you want to make sure the data is captured correctly first and then figure out how it should visually be represented.
